  6. Forum Shuffle Help
  7. The first two columns on the left side of the 
  8. screen show the current ordering of the forums in 
  9. your system.  The two columns on the right side 
  10. of the screen show what the new ordering will be 
  11. after making the changes you've requested.  In 
  12. the center of the screen is a column of forum 
  13. numbers that you can change.  This column of 
  14. number is associated with the forum names at the 
  15. left.

  17. Go down the center column of numbers changing the 
  18. numbers to reflect the new forum number you want 
  19. for each of the forums at the left.  As you make 
  20. the changes, the column of forums at the right 
  21. will be updated to reflect each change.  When 
  22. you've finished making all the changes, the 
  23. column on the right will indicate the new order of 
  24. the forums.

  26. When you're in the middle of your changes, the 
  27. column of forums at the right may look totally 
  28. screwed up.  Don't panic!  Wait till you've 
  29. finished entering ALL the new forum numbers and 
  30. THEN check the righthand column.  If it still 
  31. looks screwed up, then go ahead and panic. (Just 
  32. kidding, though you probably should abort the 
  33. process by pressing ESC and indicating you do NOT 
  34. want to make the changes.)

  36. When you've finished making all the changes, 
  37. press ESC or click on the box in the upper left 
  38. of the window with your mouse.  You will then be 
  39. asked if you want to go ahead and make the 
  40. changes you've just entered.  If you select Yes, 
  41. all the necessary files will be updated to reflect 
  42. the new forum ordering.  Be forewarned, this may 
  43. take anywhere from a few minutes to upwards of an 
  44. hour depending on the speed of your systems, the 
  45. number of forums you have, and the number of users 
  46. registered in those forums.  A LOT of data has to 
  47. be reorganized.  Once you start the process 
  48. there's no stopping it, so if you have any doubts, 
  49. select No when asked if you want to proceed.  As 
  50. the update proceeds, you will be shown a status 
  51. screen so you have some idea how far along things 
  52. are.
